Meet the Man Behind “Tribute to Seattle” – Tim Jordan

In this segment of Q13’s True Northwest, photojournalist Michael Driver interviews Tim Jordan, a Bothell resident who has dedicated over two decades to constructing a detailed miniature version of Seattle. Tim’s model includes iconic landmarks such as the Space Needle, Dick’s Drive-In, and the Fremont Troll. His meticulous work captures the essence of the city, preserving both current and bygone structures in miniature form. Tim’s passion for model building not only showcases his craftsmanship but also serves as an inspiration for others to explore this intricate hobby.

A Miniature Masterpiece

How incredible is this? Imagine a hobby so immersive, so detailed, and so full of heart that it becomes a legacy you can pass down for generations. That’s exactly what Tim Jordan, a former jet mechanic from Bothell, Washington, has created in his garage.

For the past 22 years, Tim Jordan has been building a jaw-dropping miniature version of Seattle, right inside his home. Recently featured in a FOX 13 Seattle interview, his work is a tribute to craftsmanship, patience, and hometown pride.

From the glowing Space Needle to the nostalgic charm of Dick’s Drive-In, Tim’s attention to detail is astonishing. Even quirky landmarks like the Fremont Troll and the long-gone Lincoln Toe-Truck. His model city isn’t just static, either. It lights up with working LED systems that make his tiny Seattle come alive after dark.
